How To Remove Liver Spots
There are a few ways to remove liver spots that are appearing on your skin, from those on your face to your arms and hands. There are many products & treatments out there to remove the accumulated melanin from your skin, both medically and with home liver spot removal kits. Most people prefer the home remedies because they are natural, easy to use and also cheap.
You could start with some every day procedures that you can incorporate into your normal beauty routine. Cleanse your face and body if it is effected using a wash containing glycolic acid. This will exfoliate the skin without harsh scrubbing. You should also be sure to wear sunscreen all over your face and body – even on a cloudy day as the UVA & UVB rays can still penetrate through the clouds.
These methods will help to prevent any new liver spots from forming, and also stop the ones you have from getting worse. Your next step is to treat the liver spots you have either with a home made solution or buy one.
There are some bleaching products that work for people with liver spots and they can be effective if used as instructed. Hydroquinone is one example of a well known skin bleaching cream. High strength bleaching creams can have side effects so make sure you are aware of them before you begin treatment.
The trouble with bleaching your skin to remove liver spots is that the area surrounding the liver spots will also lighten so you need to be very careful & precise with your application. Always use a skin protector when doing this to your skin before applying the bleach on the liver spots. You can let the bleach to stay on up to 10 to 30 minutes and dry on your skin, but always remember to rinse the bleach thoroughly afterwards.
On the home remedies side, there a lot to choose from. You could try out each one of them since they are chemical free and cannot damage your skin the more instead. Lemon being the number one bleach, alongside some more ingredients could help you look lovely despite of the already hot sun. For instance you could use lemons juice because it is acidic & a bleaching agent that would help you clear your liver spots within a few weeks. Take a spoon full of salt and another of lemon juice and apply the mixture on the skin where the liver spots tend to dominate. You could make your own facial scrub with oatmeal and lemon juice. Apply on the skin and then wait for about 15 minutes. Aloe Vera gel, papaya scrub, olive oil and butter milk mask are also popular ingredients for liver spot home remedies.
If all other methods fail, you can try laser – but this is the most expensive way to remove liver spots and many are put off by the price. Another option which should be considered as a last resort is a high strength chemical peel. This is a surgical procedure and takes many weeks to recover – it also has a high risk of infection & scarring.
